Elevation Map of Moessbauer Placement
This elevation map was created from microscopic imager images acquired by Spirit on sol 39 at the target called Peak.  The image reveals the various high and low points of this spot of soil after the Moessbauer spectrometer was gently placed down on it.  The red areas are farthest away from the instrument while the blue areas are closest.  The variation in distance between blue and red areas is only a couple of millimeters, or .08 of an inch.
