An Outcrop with a View (Left Eye) NASA's Mars Exploration Rover Spirit created this 360-degree stereo view of the rolling martian terrain on sol 204 (July 30, 2004) on Mars, after traveling more than 3 kilometers (2 miles) across the plains within the 165-kilometer-wide (103-mile-wide) Gusev Crater. This mosaic was created from images taken by Spirit's on-board navigation camera. The field of view is 360 degrees from right to left and is presented in a cylindrical projection with geometrical seam correction. This is the left-eye view of a stereo pair. Image credit: NASA/JPL
